INITIAL SCREEN DESIGN
I WANTED THE INITIAL LAUNCH SCREEN TO CARRY AN IMPACT. THIS IS MY INITAL SKETCH - THE FINAL DESIGN IS PRETTY CLOSE TO WHAT I MAPPED OUT HERE. THE MAIN VISUALS I WANTED TO INCLUDE ALL WENT IN. AS A CENTRAL FIGURE TO THE GAME - I FELT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO ADD A GOOD SHOT OF THE SPACE MARINE. THE GAME NAME. DESQ LOGO AND LINKS WERE ALL IMPORTANT ELEMENTS TO FACTOR IN - I THINK THE FINAL INTERPLAY OF THESE WORKED QUITE WELL.
IN MY FINAL VERSION I TRIED TO REUSE A LOT OF THE 3D ASSETS I'D CREATED FOR THE GAME ENVIRONMENT. I THINK THE FINAL EFFECTS I ADDED, SUCH AS BLINKING LIGHTS AND RANDOMLY FLICKERING TEXT, IN CONJUNCTION WITH KIERAN COLLIN'S ETHEREAL AMBIENT AUDIO TRACK, REALLY HELPS TO SET THE SCENE FOR BRAIN CELL. IT REALLY DRAWS THE PLAYER IN.
